I loved working on the Red Deer Hospice No-Show Gala campaign in 2018.
The Event Manager's creative concept was to market the raffle as an event - which involved a dramatic change in messaging from past Galas where the experience was emphasized.
Supporting tactics were drawn from both the communications and marketing spheres to ensure the change in message was communicated while still selling tickets.
Another area that was different than previous was our reliance on social media to get the word out.

Typically, we would have created posters and other print materials to inform of Gala info (date time) and especially to set the tone and communicate the annual theme.

For the No Show Gala we used Facebook and email marketing to generate buzz and sell tickets.
We also created a fun video highlighting past Hospice galas, which we embedded on our website and linked to in our marketing materials. (excerpt here)
The video concept was based on another theatre group's idea (with permission) and we even scored a cameo from Ron MacLean of Hockey Night in Canada fame.

The final event was successful in raising nearly $100,000 for resident care.
